Hi! Saw on the SeafaringImplementation wiki page that a good way of making rowboats for water ways hasn't been decided on yet. How about a boatyard producing rowboats, that is upgradeable to a shipyard? Top Quote |

I rather like this idea - a lot of the buildings in Widelands allow for upgrades to further their output and this sounds like a relevant addition. The builder could also use the rowboat construction gain the experience required to make the larger ships. WARNING: New-style view packet not found. There may be strange effects regarding unseen areas. |

Could rowboats also be used to enhance a Fisher's Hut (once Fisherman has achieved Master Fisherman status) to a Fisher's Dock, which has a greater work area and greater production rate of fish? Top Quote |

We need to be careful about feature creep. The food producers (fisher, hunter, piggery) work well as they are in my opinion and a building shouldn't have an upgrade for the sake of it. The game (arguably) will need rowboats at some point, so it makes sense to consider a building with upgrades to supply both those and the ships. WARNING: New-style view packet not found.
