La diferencia entre el TU y USTED es meramente formal. Depende de cada situación usamos uno u otro. Por ejemplo a mis maestros, jefes y cualquier otra persona a la que le deba respeto le hablo de usted.
Por el contrario a mis amigos les hablo de tu. También debo decirte que le la mayoría de las ocasiones el "TU" puede, y debe, omitirse en la oración el lo que se denomina "sujeto implícito"

Por eso en la mayoría de las ocasiones no tendrás que decidir, y en el caso de hacerlo si quieres acercarte al lector usaras el tu. Si por el contrario quieres mantener la distancia usaras el usted.
