Very nice +1 to stonerls idea (option3) Will the mainmenu get a background with the same color/image as the buttons in the menu? If so, i think adding something like a Volute to the left and right will look nice. Fight simulator for Widelands: |

Once everything is ready, we should definitely discuss a change in the keyboard shortcuts. We should have shortcuts for each menu, because one can use the arrow keys from there + Enter. Even Ctrl+Enter for exiting a game will work. We might then lose some other shortcuts if we're running out of letters in the alphabet. I think we could then also remove the toolbar-related shortcuts from the Encyclopedia, because they are clearly visible on each menu item. We will also need to update the basic control tutorial, because I have removed census & statistics from the fieldaction menus. No menu background planned at this time.
