It must be something with 7360 32-bit version - I get the same fault here.

I have it 64bit working now, but 32bit still crashes. I deleted the .widelands directory again and executed widelands from the command line.

Wierd. But at least it appears that I am back in the water.

Thanks everyone who commented!

depends.exe reports:
Error: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in an implicitly dependent module.
Error: Modules with different CPU types were found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

Looks like the 32-bit widelands.exe is linked to 64-bit versions of some of the dependant DLLs. List.

Looks like you are right, simplypeachy. Problem seems isolated to the 32bit build. I tried running the 32bit bzr7360 and crashed as before.

I've still no clue. I did several clean rebuilds, did and debug build, but even gdb gives me absolutely no clue what happens.

It seems something with my win32 build environment is wrong. I don't think something is wrong with the dlls, because Widelands should load all dlls on startup, so with a missing or wrong dll it should not get to the main menu.

I will stick with my 64bit builds and abandon those 32bit builds.

Ah sorry, I tried a few other random 32-bit programs and they throw the same errors in Dependency Walker, sorry for the misinformation. Now I have to figure out why depends is broken face-tongue.png

Didn't mean to open a kettle of fish, so to speak, but it is good I stumbled into this. I wouldn't have tried the 32-bit build if I hadn't issues with my transition from build 18.
