Hai all!

We just talked about the incompatiblities in the different development versions and some player play with Tino's builds and other have the daily ppa and other compile for itself....

The Tournament is and was also a good test for the buildings and revealed a lot of bugs.

Other thoughts and opinions will be welcome!

This morning we attempted to use the latest build. Unfortunately, as a result of mixed choice of OS's, the commit numbers did not match, and we had to revert to B18.

Yeah lets get a build out specifically for the tournament. half the reason for the tourney is to find bugs, which is a bit pointless if we're using a nearly year old version because getting four people on the same version is a bit of a pain.

Releasing is a rather involved process... It costs many hours. I'd rather not do this. Also, trunk is not in shape for being a supported release - too much stuff is still changing and needs some more work.

What is wrong with using the nightlies? You can pin one revision and everybody can install that. There is no difference to a release.

mostly because we have different places to get it for the different OS's and the versions don't always match up. like last night/this morning. we decided to get "the latest" and some of us ended up on 56 and others on 57. Tino has skilled 57 and built straight to 58. we ended up using build18 just because it was going to take too long to get us all on the same version.

It's not really a big problem, it's just it's hard enough getting everyone together at the same time, getting everyone on the same version is just another thing to worry about.
