hey guys! is it possible to install 2 wl versions at the same time? best option would be to have the daily build installed and updated by apt/ppa and the r18 build somehow installed "manually". is there any easy way to do that? only option that comes in my mind would be to somehow compile build 18 in user dir and not to do "make install" but start widelands somehow using ./widelands in some dir. is this possible? and is this the only way? tia so long and thanks for all the fun! I have build 18 installed by the package manager and compile up-to-date versions from source. It is really easy once you have all dependencies installed. You can find more information at https://wl.widelands.org/wiki/Building%20Widelands/ (including a list of required packages). Top Quote |

For Windows: Not a problem, just tell the installer that you want to install the game to another folder than default. Now I have 5 folders with different versions of Widelands (1: build 18, 4: dev builds provided by Tino- thanks to him ). For Linux: For me easiest version is to download branch code you want and compile it manually to another folders (like above). Probably you will need to install dozens of additional packages. If you have questions about that, you can ask Tibor- he helped me a lot with compiling on Ubuntu his branch. After that probably you will have to run widelands manually from folder, not a "widelands" command on terminal. Edited: 2015-01-12, 13:33
