got a new design here, what do you think? i think it looks more peacefull and easier to be build by barbarians (should still get new walls anyway but the shape would stay if agreed)
btw. not rendered in blender 2.49b nor rendered with the normal settings, just a quick render to show the concept

Ah! My first impression is of a tiki grass hut like those in Polynesia or even an American southwest adobe.
Remember that the barbarians' principle tool is an axe and primary building material is trunks.
I like the model, but I think it would better suit a tribe with Pacific island or tropical origins.
What do others think?

@smoku: Thanks! Those are some wonderful examples!! I especially like the elements on the peaks of the roofs.

kingcreole, I like the shape, but I somehow can't help to be reminded of hobbits.
Maybe it's just me, but it may be a bit too peaceful for barbarian after all.

I have the same opinion as Chuck and Astuur comments regarding Kingcreoloe's suggestion. The style proposed would be very nice for a new tribe, not so much for the barbarians. It would change the building structures rather drasticaly and in a direction opposite to what is intended for the barbarians tribe "architecture" (at least as I see it).

The examples given by smoku are the ones to be followed, imho.

getting child-friendly barbarians, that whole idea seems kinda ironic... anyway, that destroyed building looks a lot easyer in blender 2.59 than in 2.49b, if i would create my branch and put 2.59 .blend files there, i might get the job done faster, anyway for the final merge we would have to change those 2.49b files into 2.59 files, what about those scripts? the old python 2.5 scripts would have to be converted into python 3.3 scripts... i guess i´ll just start working with blender 2.59 and get that little piece of work (changing those old blendfiles to new) done afterwards, okay?
