I discovered this game only a few weeks ago, and it has sucked me in! I just wanted to express my appreciation to all who have contributed for making such a wonderful polished game! I never played Settlers in its heyday, as I did not actually have any computers running Windows (I've been hacking Unix & Unix-like systems since 1972), so the learning curve was pretty steep, but it has been well worth the effort! This thread makes me happy, thank you for writing. And it's nice to see people picking up Widelands who've never played Settlers.

Guys! I'm happy I made your respective nights! But I gotta say, I just love this game! Keep on doing what you do! I'd love to have an "automagic" create a random world with (in island mode) player 1 (human) at 1 corner, and player 2 (AI) at the opposite corner. I know there's been some other discussion of this possibility, but it's a big deal, I think. Thanks, all! --Crazy Marty

A big thank you from me too! I used to be a fan of Settlers II but I didn't got a chance to play it to the end. So this is just like high-school all over again

I wouldn't still be hanging around (like a bad smell WARNING: New-style view packet not found. There may be strange effects regarding unseen areas.
