The first release candidate for Build 19 is out. You can download it from Launchpad:

~1 week after the rc. If no new bugs are found.

I have created a Build 20 section on the Roadmap in the wiki - maybe other contributors would like to add their plans too.

Not sure if it counts as a bug, but the installer no longer asks where to install it and insists on installing it where it was previously installed.

Which means that unless things are changed back, any future copies of Widelands would wind up installed in C:/Games/Widelands-daily7529 .

Great, another step closer to the best Widelands release the world has ever known! The announcement speaks of better support for left-to-right languages, which is great, but I suppose you mean RTL face-wink.png

Happy settling!

Hi there,
I didn't come here for a while. I just reinstall widelands using the daily PPA on my new laptop (bzr8151-201610261902 on linux Mint 18 - french language). I'm not sure this is the latest vesion. I found 2 problems :
- clicking on "A propos" (probably "About", in english) shows an error :

- In the list of screen resolution, there are many blank lines between 1400x1050 and 1440x900

I hope this will help

Edit : I seems that the icon for the reset zoom button is missing (it's a red square with x1 written inside)

Fixed face-smile.png

  • In the list of screen resolution, there are many blank lines between 1400x1050 and 1440x900

This issue is known, and the fix is waiting for a code review.

Edit : I seems that the icon for the reset zoom button is missing (it's a red square with x1 written inside)

That's because we don't wait for graphics to get a new feature in when we're starting a new release cycle. Contributions will be welcome face-smile.png

So I tried letting four CPUs play each other (Fortified Village, Endless Game No Fog) on TEST Arena 4 sides 2 (from the zip I linked to recently) in 19 RC1. Three times in two games (all three Atlanteans, seeing as I went Barbarians/Empire/Atlanteans/Random) a CPU managed to use up all their wood before they finished building a woodcutter, essentially ruining themselves.

Therefore, I think the AI needs to be adjusted so they're not so happy to use key resources when they have zero of the matching building (All Woodcutters for Log, Empire's Sawmill for Plank).

...on a side note, if you try to save a game in multiplayer mode (and possibly singleplayer), "Endless Game (no fog)" runs off the edge of the window; so will sufficiently long map names. My advice is to move the info form the right side of the window to the bottom.
