I've been wanting to give a contribution to the game fo a while, because I strongly believe in supporting what you like. However, the only way to make donations is through paypal, which I don't have, and don't want to make. Is there any other way? Or I must just resort to find a friend with paypal, and get him to make a donation for me? Top Quote |

I am reluctant putting an IBAN number onto the site... but I think there are other services that can take donations and pass them on. What other means for giving donations would you like to have? Top Quote |

i prefer to use credit card, like i do for most internet purchases. but if adding the option is a bother, i'll just find someone to make the donation for me. Top Quote |

Actually it should be possible to make donations with a credit card or bank account. On the bottom of the donation page is a question "Don't have a PayPal account?" and there also is a "Continue" link to do the transaction with a "credit card or bank account (where available)". Maybe the "where available" is the problem. Top Quote |

For me it looks like this. I marked the important part with a green box. Top Quote |

Oh I just noticed that the continue link will just bring you to a registration form. I thought it is the actual donation form. My bad. Edit: But I think you can leave the password field empty and no account will be created. It is really confusing me. Edited: 2015-08-13, 12:23

I am not using any of those services. If you don't want to show the IBAN as text, it could be shown as a picture, it will look as text, but it is a picture (yes of course, depending on the user font settings it may look bad). As a side note: There is no impressum (legal notice) at this side, but an impressum is a compulsary in german law for websites (don't know how it is a compulsary in other countrys). Search for "Impressumspflicht". Bug report? Fight simulator for Widelands: |

Handling credit cards transactions is technically hard, legally hard and expensive. that is why we rely on service providers like PayPal to do the heavy lifting for us. I am reluctant to give out the IBAN information at all. After all it would be my personal account - I am not sure what the security implications of that would be. And about the Impressumspflicht: yes, definitively worthy of a bug report. Top Quote |
