Looking good!

If you're looking for more trees to work on, I mentioned on the other thread that mangroves and bald cypresses both grow in swamps:

The one at the bottom looks a bit tailored, not as natural as the other ones. A comparison with some of the existing trees (i took the "old" ones):

Comparison of trees

The ones in second and third row look a bit taller... and the shadow has to be adjusted face-smile.png

Very nice indeed face-smile.png

I agree with Kaputtnik's comments - the bottom tree needs some irregularities in the leaves, since the levels look groomed.

The shadow should be correct as I use the building blender template from chuckw. face-smile.png

As for the size: I will ajust the size to fit into the game at the end. For now I am happy if it fits almost.

Yeah this is WIP and I will play around with all the trees a little more until I am completely happy with it. face-wink.png

Maybe it's only my display, but the top left tree blends fine with the ground. Maybe you can adjust the colour a bit to improve visibility on this special background. I notice that the old trees on the right side are not that uniform in colour. Maybe that's due to the different direction of the light? But it makes them looking more 3D.

Aside from that I appreciate your work face-smile.png

Yeah, the light direction needs to be moved; it should match the same direction as the older trees.,
That way, (1) the shadows would line up, and (2) the dark/light contrast means it'll stick out on all terrain, not just darker terrain.

Not quite true. IIRC when making 3D models for the Barbarian houses, it was mentioned, that the light angle had changed some time in the past. So, if fraang used the template of chuckw, as he said, the shadows should line up with the houses and rocks that have been made in the mean time. So if the shadows don’t fit with the older trees it only means, that the older trees should be rerendered (assuming they have a Blender model already) with the correct light and view angles.

and (2) the dark/light contrast means it'll stick out on all terrain, not just darker terrain.

If the angle really is the reason for the colour change, that could mean in the end, that the older trees probably won’t be as visible as they are right now…

Two is the oddest prime.
