In the context of bug #861840 and bug #566970 (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/861840 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/566970), I'm proposing a change to the logic that decides which type of building can be built where, and I thought this is an appropriate forum to ask for some feedback from the graphics point of view. Some pictures of the changes I propose are in the linked bug report.

The logic of the change is that all fields occupied by big buildings should themselves be entirely on land and sufficiently removed from other immovables. In a sense, every single-field immovable has a size from small to big, and immovables right next to each other limit each other in size, so that the maximum possible size combinations for neighbouring fields are big-small or medium-medium.

Tell me what you think.

Judging by the screenshots in the discussion of bug #861840, the solution you propose is very good. It always struck me as unnatural that large buildings could be built in narrow straights or immediately behind the point where only small building could fit. Thanks!
