The best is how the AI starts out exactly the same on each location and then runs out of wood ;). Btw, it seems like north and south cannot connect on your map.

I also worried about the north-south-problem, and I think it's true. You can't reach the other side of the mountains on your own, you'll need someone else to build something for you to conquer. But you can perfectly chop down the first line of trees on the other side ;) I was also thinking about some kind of early game tree- or even rock-buffer to prevent the first 5 of 8 aggressive AIs from being destroyed after 6 minutes.
