what is it? you are not participating, or you are planning to intentionally lose one game or two?

I'd have to do more playtesting before I find an obvious imbalance. But as I wrote in the other thread: It's complicated to find good positions for the artifacts...

I was thinking to put them halfway between the two players, scattered in all the directions, to encourage growing on all sides

I think king_of_nowhere has enough experience in organizing this to know how much time we will need to organize an extra round / a second phase. If it takes him a bit longer than expected, the rounds can always be played a week or two later. So, I see no reason why he should do all that work right now if it might not be needed.

Nobody is unbeatable

you are not participating,

Probably I will participate, probably I will sign up if round 4 will look clear (and fair)...

or you are planning to intentionally lose one game or two?

No

Okay, that would be another possibility. Maybe even fairer and not that complicated. Probably very short matches though.

It's just nice to know in advance what one is signing up to. During the last tournaments, at least the map of the second phase had been announced before the start.

So far we are 11. can we find 3 more?

We'd also need a final arbiter, though in a pinch we could likely skip the role as it was never needed.

I know two persons who want to play - but they didn't sign up yet. And I will probably also participate. So it's almost like the magical number 14 is reached and the tournament can happen... Maybe this certainty motivates more possible participants, who knows?

P.S. worldsavior, I included you in the participants even though you didn't officially subscribe.

That's good. But anyway I would be surprised if Hasi50 and the other person who told me that he wants to play change their mind again, and if nobody else signs up.

All right. Yes, I'd like to participate indeed. So thanks for putting me on the list. Please just make sure that the matches don't favor any starting position too much, and reconsider maybe if some very short artefact race should really play a crucial role in the tournament.
