Now that we finally have the new build, I would like to host a new tournament, as was become a sort of tradition. Right now my life is a bit complicated, so I'm taking a week or two before setting up a final timetable. but I will make an official announcement soon enough. tournament will be swiss system, 5 or 6 rounds depending on how many participants. There will be two weeks to play each round, with the rules that were used the other times. I'm thinking of removing the one month playing time for larger maps, as it was never needed. right now, before the official announcement, I'd like to ask if there are maps and/or win conditions that you would like to see. I will try too implement features that are asked by many people, but in the end I willl take the final decisions myself. If somebody complains too much or makes too much fuss about something, I may resign my position and let that person take over organization. I have to point it out because that happened in 2017, and it is the reason there was no 2018 tournament. that said, I would like to use the fjords map (https://wl.widelands.org/maps/fjords-12/), as I like it and it can only be used between hhumans. I remember several people not liking it in 2016, so if there is too much on an outcry I will desist. Top Quote |

Very good
+1
Let me support you with this suggestions - assuming that it will be an 1vs1-tournament: Four Castles (red vs green) Swamp Monks (red vs green) Wisent Valley (red vs green) Three Warriors (red vs green - er i mean red vs blue) Ice Wars (red vs black - no autocrat but something else - because of islands) Sun of Fire (yellow vs ocher) Wanted to save the world, then I got widetracked Top Quote |

I think it would be fun to have each type of win condition at least once. If the territorial ones, maybe Territorial Time to prevent games from running too long? Thanks for organizing this! Busy indexing nil values Top Quote |

My suggestions could look like this then: Four Castles (red vs green) - territorial lord Swamp Monks (red vs green) - woodgnome Wisent Valley (red vs green) - artifacts Three Warriors (red vs blue) - autocrat Ice Wars (red vs black) - collectors Sun of Fire (yellow vs ocher) - territorial time By the way, another good map would be The Taw (red vs yellow) - many win conditions possible Edited: 2019-05-14, 13:37

I could have sworn no more than a week passed since I posted this, and here I almost run out of the 2-weeks timeline I gave myself. Guess I'll have to post in the next days then. And hope the answers to this thread were not representative of the actual participation Top Quote |
