The best idea (for me) from older topics like that, was providing 3 options:

  1. Destroy building as it is now
  2. Upgrade building as it is now
  3. First get rid of all resources, then automatic upgrade

I guess that this option is not too complex to put into the code. Why? Player has to decide if he/she wants to make it slower. And the decision is made according to time and occupation the building (no miner = no reason to go 3rd option). The only problem is always graphics: we need another icon + there should be place within building window tab to place it.

I'm against another icon. The choice between 2. and 3. can just as easily be made in the confirmation window. And for those who use CTRL-Click to skip the confirmation, we can have ALT-Click for the one of the options.

The real problem here is than we need somebody to find the time to implement this. I'm interested in this, but I'm currently focused on fixing the fullscreen switching and the font renderer, which are 2 huge projects. From our C++ programming regulars, Tibor is doing AI, Notabilis is doing networking, and Hasi is mostly doing testing and code reviews. SirVer is too busy with RL to do much at the moment.

The construction worker should move out the wares.
