You're right, I haven't played anything past build 18; I did download a recent version not too long ago, but haven't gotten around to testing it yet. Normally, I only download a new version every now and then (I have build 17, 6498, 6576, 6812, build 18, and 7199, but haven't tested the last one). That said, I'll take a look at the latest version and then start a new topic. I also just might be able to produce a suitable icon; we'll see.

We have a media repository. A lot of stuff has been done in Blender, the rest in Gimp. You can get it via bzr branch lp:widelands-media/trunk More info on how to use these commands are on the wiki.

We should discuss this though and agree on stuff before you do the artwork, so we won't waste your time.

BTW@translators: Launchpad has finished importing the new translation templates.

Somebody accidentally uploaded a language file to the wrong language. Luckily, somebody else noticed this pretty fast, so I could go in and revert to the previous version of the file.

So, before you upload, please always check carefully that you have the correct language and the correct po file selected face-wink.png

I had accidentally killed the campaign descriptions in the maps template. They're back up for translation now, but Launchpad won't find the old translations. You can recover your translations from this version.

I have just fixed this bug, which means that some terrain names in world.pot will change the next time we update the translations. Numbers and info in parentheses has been removed. This change isn't big, but it can't hurt to grab a copy of your po files just in case.
