Well, not much more to explain.
There are times when traffic on the forums is high enough to justify this.
I cannot see any disadvantages, and hopefully it's easy to change.

I am on Win32, have no means to compile, and rely on prefabricated distributions (Thanks to Tino).

It certainly is the better alternative.
I'm in fact doing so, but somehow can't really get used to it face-smile.png
Quite apart from myself, I think the "last x Forum Posts" are more
inviting for the casual user, who drops in once in a while.
